Costume Information

Unlike past years, we will not be sending costumes home this week. Instead, we are asking that your actor(s) changes at the theater before and after the dress rehearsals and shows. Please have actors wear clothes that are easy to change in and out of because actors will have 5-10 minutes to get into costume. Every actor will have a spot to keep their clothes and shoes, but feel free to label their home clothes if you are concerned.
We made this change to help keep costumes clean and neat. If your actor needs help dressing, please plan to come into the gym to help them before and after the full dress rehearsal on Thursday and the shows. Please see the information about makeup calls to see what time your child should report to the gym to change into their costume.

Sock Information:

If your actor wears jeans/slacks/pants, please wear TALL black socks.
If your actor wears a skirt or dress, please wear low/no-show black socks.

Hair Information:
Angel Choir:
• Girls: if hair is long enough, high side ponytail (think Jo Jo Siwa from her Dance Moms days) and we will add a bright scrunchie! If hair is not long enough, pulled away from the face.
• Abby K. & Genevieve – your hair is good to go as is.
• Lillie – half-up/half-down ponytail, we can help at makeup call time
• Boys: hair needs to be out of your face; if hair is long, low ponytail.
Shepherds:
• Girls: low ponytail so you can wear your headcovering
• Boys: hair needs to be out of your face; if hair is long, low ponytail.
Sheep:
• Low ponytail if hair is long enough.
Herdmans:
• Boys – hair needs to be out of your face; if hair is long, low ponytail.
• Alex D – Have your hair loose and disheveIed during the beginning scenes. Then when you come for dress rehearsal pull it into a low ponytail, so it works with your Mary headcovering.
• Caroline – two odd ponytails.
Adults:
• Girls: we will be adding a little poof and some headbands to your hair. (Exception is Mary Grace – you also have a Jo Jo Siwa ponytail)
• Boys: hair needs to be out of your face. Use hairspray and bobby pins to keep it back if it tends to fall forward into your eyes. If hair is long, low ponytail.

Other Costume Notes:

• No eating in costume, please only drink water while wearing your costume. I know this is so hard and schedules are tight, but please have your actor eat before they get to the theater. If they MUST have a snack, please pack pretzel sticks or plain animal crackers. Monitors will confiscate any greasy foods, condiment packages (such as ketchup and mustard), or colorful drinks.
• Wear antiperspirant
• Pants must be worn around the natural waist and shirts are generally tucked in.
• Please do not wear jewelry, watches, bracelets, necklaces, etc.
• If you wear glasses, and can safely manage without them, please do not wear them on stage. Safety is most important however, please make the decision that is best for you.
• Please do not wear nail polish
